Lots of Celebrations

We’re happy to share that our kids have been doing great in spite of the pandemic. As we have been taking all the COVID 19 precautions, the kids are safe. We thank you for your constant support as this wouldn’t have been possible without you. The month of November started with Diwali. The kids wore new clothes, participated in the Dhanteras pooja, burst crackers, lit diyas. The elder girls also helped draw rangoli. They were also taught the significance of the festival. On Children’s Day, Sports Day was held for the children. Games like running race, musical chairs & ball in the bucket were played. The kids had lots of fun participating in these games. In the first week of December, we designed a poster to create awareness among the public to stop abandonment of children. This poster was designed for the local office of Department of Women & Child Development. It was also displayed at prominent hospitals to create awareness. On Christmas morning, the children made Christmas greeting card. In the evening, they dressed up so as to celebrate Christmas. The kids enjoyed the cake they cut, had wafers and then received their gifts.

A FAMILY FOR EVERY CHILD

During the Adoption Awareness week, we conducted a workshop for the children at Bal Asha Trust. We explained the concept of family, love and support which comes with family. They also drew pictures of themselves in a family. We shared pictures of children in the family. They were delighted to see their friends once with them in a family of their own.

We conduct different activities for our kids on a daily basis. One fine day, a wellwisher asked if she could send some activity kits that she had made. We appreciated her kind the kids received lovely activity kits. A wellwisher made these kits and sent it to the kids. On a Zoom call, they were guided how to do the activity step by step. The kids had a nice time making friendship bands, book marks all by themselves.

EMPOWERING WOMEN

In collaboration with the German Consulate, we had been providing ration kits to the needy, While doing so, we came across a few women that insisted we give them work instead of ration kits. We were happy to give them employment as we saw determination in them to work hard in order to support their families. They now sew masks for Bal Asha Trust.
